EARTH DESIGN was founded in 1983 by Brian E. Bloomer, a 1974 graduate in Landscape Architecture from Iowa State University. His experience includes a position as Landscape Architect for the St. Charles Park District. Brian’s extensive knowledge of plant materials comes from his experience at Midwest Groundcovers and The Natural Garden, both well-respected nurseries. Brian is also a Illinois Registered Landscape Architect.
His wife Ellen joined him in 1991 after completing courses in landscape design and plant materials at Joliet Jr. College, . Ellen has earned the title Master Gardener through the University of Illinois Extension Service. She also has taught classes in design and perennials at several Park Districts. Ellen has become an accomplished designer in her own right, bringing to Earth Design her practical experience, design talents and love of plants.
